Yesterday, Governor Tim Kaine came to Alexandria and visited the new Potomac Yard Fire Station. The fire station is a mixed-use project (firehouse, retail and affordable housing) which Kerry Donley has been working on as a Board member of AHDC. Via News Channel 8:

“City officials said they believe the station at Potomac Yard to be the only project in the nation where it combines a fire station with affordable housing and retail space. The five-story building is also LEED certified, which fits into Kaine’s renew Virginia plan to build green and conserve energy.”
